BlueSkills: a new label by the Union for the Mediterranean
Blue economy is a key for sustainable development, jobs creation and investments in Mediterranean. The project "BlueSkills: Blue Jobs and Responsible Growth in the Mediterranean throughout Enhancing Skills and Developing Capacities" has received the Union for the Mediterranean label. This is promoted by a Mediterranean consortium led by the Italian National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics and aims at implementing a pan-Mediterranean initiative for developing new curricula and increasing employability in the marine sciences and maritime sectors.
The project core activities aim to promote the creation of skills, knowledge and research in the field of Blue Economy, leading to “blue” careers and scientific research. By supporting the Euro-Mediterranean community of stakeholders of the Blue Economy through Higher Education and Research, it will enhance the shared knowledge of the Mediterranean basin in marine and maritime sectors.
The Union for the Mediterranean endorses our regional project aiming to promote blue employment: Blue Jobs and Responsible Growth in the Mediterranean throughout Enhancing Skills and Developing Capacities. The BlueSkills project promotes opportunities for “Blue” marine and maritime careers by developing skills, exchanging knowledge and valorising research for more sustainable Mediterranean Sea.
Its aim is to develop new curricula and increase employability in the marine and maritime sectors. By supporting the Euro-Mediterranean communities of the Blue Economy stakeholders through higher education, research and innovation, the project will enhance the shared knowledge of the Mediterranean Region.
Congratulations to all the partners and stakeholders!
